The Details

An evening of controlled chaos

We're throwing a party to celebrate our marriage. Think cocktail hour that never ends, a DJ who understands the assignment, and dancing under the dome.

When

Saturday, September 12, 2026

6pm cocktails | 7:15pm dinner | 8pm dancing | 10:30pm last call | 11pm go home

Where

Science Museum of Virginia

2500 West Broad Street
Richmond, Virginia 23220

What to Expect

Exceptional cocktails. Dancing. Good conversation. The distinct sense that reality has softened around the edges.

What Not to Expect

A ceremony. Walking down an aisle.

Dress Code

Formal, avant garde

We're asking for formal attire because this is a celebration worth dressing up for. But we encourage interpretation.

Embrace the unexpected. A melting pocket square. An impossible color. Accessories that shouldn't exist. The only rule: come as the most elegant version of yourself.

Some ideas

  • Floor-length gowns, cocktail dresses
  • Tuxedos, dark suits
  • Surrealist accessories encouraged
  • Metallics, jewel tones, chartreuse
  • Comfortable dancing shoes

Please avoid

  • White or ivory (that's Meg's territory)
  • Casual attire
  • Anything you couldn't dance in
